Questions About Programs
Ratios vary by age group: Infants (1:4), Toddlers (1:6), Preschool (1:10), Pre-K (1:12), and School Age (1:15). These meet or exceed New Mexico state requirements and ensure each child receives individualized attention from qualified caregivers.
ABQ Childcare uses a play-based curriculum that balances structured learning with child-led exploration. Activities are designed around early literacy, math, science, art, music, and social-emotional development. Our approach is grounded in the belief that children learn best through purposeful play and hands-on activities.
Most children are ready for preschool between ages 3 and 4. Signs of readiness include interest in playing with other children, ability to follow simple instructions, growing independence with self-care (eating, using the bathroom), and curiosity about learning. Our teachers work with each child at their own developmental pace.
